# TV Night Guard 0.1.0-beta.4

Public testing build. Free during testing; unsigned. Native GUI, permissions,
sleep/wake, and TV-hardware validation remain pending. Do not depend on this
beta for parental supervision or safety.

Expires: 2026-10-28T08:40:28.369Z — 30 days after build, not installation.
Stable releases are exempt. After expiry, TV control stops; inspection,
diagnostic export, TV removal and explicit startup/wake cleanup remain available.
Do not change your clock to extend the testing period.

## Windows x64 portable ZIP
Extract the entire ZIP to a fixed folder. Open the TV Night Guard Beta folder
and run TV Night Guard Beta.exe. Keep all runtime files together. This is not
a standalone executable or installer. The Windows installer is not available.
The app is unsigned: never disable antivirus to run it.

## Linux x64
Extract the AppImage ZIP, mark the AppImage executable (chmod +x filename.AppImage)
and run it. Your distribution may require FUSE support.
For Debian/Ubuntu, extract the Debian ZIP and install the .deb using your package
manager (sudo apt install ./filename.deb).
Linux wake requests require systemd, compatible hardware and explicit approval.
macOS packages are not available.

## Before guarding a TV
Keep the computer powered on, signed in, connected to your home network and
running the app. Pair the TV and physically verify its off test. For The Frame,
ensure Art Mode stops and the screen goes completely dark. Set quiet hours
and selected nights, then enable the guard. Never run two guard versions at once.

## Updating and removing
Turn off startup/wake options in Settings before moving or removing the app.
Quit from the tray before updating. Expiry does not automatically remove native
wake tasks or delete saved data. Remove saved TVs to delete their credentials.

The testing period is public and free; retain all license and third-party notices.
